Custom Lampshade Process
Custom Lampshades: Tailored to Your Taste
If you can’t find what you want in our large in-stock selection, our custom lampshades are a great choice. We will work together to create a shade that fits your lamp, room, and style just right. Pick from many shapes and sizes, from classic designs to modern looks. You can choose high-quality materials like fine silk, crisp parchment, or simple woven linen. You can also bring your own fabric, and we will help you figure out how much you need to make your idea come alive. Lastly, choose from our collection of trims, including Petersham Grosgrain, French Soutache, and soft velvet options in different colors and widths.
Fitter Options: A Perfect Fit for Every Shade
The correct fitter ensures your lampshade sits correctly on the lamp. We use several fitter styles which are determined by the lamp hardware and socket types.
Washer: This is the most common fitter. It’s used when your lamp has a harp & saddle.
Edison Clip: This clip type clips directly onto traditional Edison shaped bulbs, LED or incandescent, when the lamp doesn’t have a harp & saddle.
Candle or Torpedo Clip: This clip is often used for chandelier shades and smaller lamps. It clips directly onto torpedo shaped bulbs.
Uno Slip: This fitter is the same sized ring as the threaded UNO without the threading. Like the name says, it “slips” over the socket jacket.
Uno Threaded: This fitter is a ring that screws onto a threaded socket jacket. It is usually used for downward task lighting and is commonly found on antique bridge floor lamps.
Nord: This is a unique fitter used with phenolic sockets. It is a common fitter used on lampshades made overseas.
Thank you so much for your hard work. I love the lampshades. Everyone that comes to our home asks where we got them. Happy New Year!
